Founding-phase public archive structure for the Planetary Integrity Foundation.

Purpose
The Public Archive is intended to become the public memory of the Planetary Integrity Foundation.
Its purpose is to preserve the documents, protocol versions, governance updates, methodological notes and public records that make the initiative reviewable over time.
At founding phase, the archive is not a complete institutional repository. It is the first structure for making the evolution of the initiative visible, traceable and accountable.

Why an archive matters
Decision integrity requires memory.
Without a public record, protocols can drift, assumptions can disappear, governance claims can become unclear and institutional trust can depend too much on narrative.
The archive is designed to support:
- version traceability;
- public accountability;
- reviewable institutional evolution;
- preservation of assumptions and limits;
- contributor and advisor transparency where appropriate;
- separation between current status and future ambition;
- clear distinction between drafts, proposals and adopted materials.

Archive principles

1. Traceability
Important documents should remain identifiable by version, status and date.

2. Reviewability
Public materials should allow external readers to understand what changed, why it changed and what remains unresolved.

3. Status clarity
Drafts, proposals, working notes and adopted documents must not be confused.

4. Institutional restraint
The archive must not overstate maturity, authority, adoption or validation.

5. Public-interest access
Where appropriate, documents should be accessible in formats that support public reading, citation and review.

6. Evidence discipline
Methodological or analytical claims should be connected to sources, assumptions, uncertainty and limitations where relevant.

Archive categories
The archive may include the following categories.
- 01
Foundational documents
Documents that explain the purpose, mission, scope and founding rationale of the initiative.
Examples:
- Founding Brief;
- mission statements;
- public explanatory notes;
- founding-phase position documents.

Protocol versions
Public versions of the Planetary Decision Integrity Protocol.
Each version should identify:
- version number;
- publication status;
- scope;
- major changes;
- open issues;
- relationship to prior versions.

Governance records
Documents related to governance design, principles, limits and institutional safeguards.
Examples:
- Governance Model versions;
- conflict-of-interest principles;
- contributor rules;
- review procedures;
- publication principles.

Framework artifacts
Documents and templates related to the practical application of the framework.
Examples:
- Decision Integrity Check templates;
- assessment field structures;
- evidence traceability models;
- review checklists;
- maturity models.

Technical and methodological notes
Notes that support the development of Kairo, Consequence Intelligence and evidence traceability.
Examples:
- AI authority-limit notes;
- reasoning traceability notes;
- uncertainty representation notes;
- evidence model notes;
- methodological design records.

Public updates
Public notes on the evolution of the initiative.
Examples:
- roadmap updates;
- version releases;
- contribution calls;
- public clarifications;
- status changes.

Document status model
Each archived document should use a clear status model.
- 01
Draft
A working document under development. It must not be treated as approved or final.
- 02
Review
A document shared for structured review, comment or expert feedback.
- 03
Published
A document intentionally released as a public reference for the current state of the initiative.
- 04
Superseded
A document replaced by a later version but preserved for transparency.
- 05
Withdrawn
A document removed from active use because it is inaccurate, obsolete or inconsistent with the initiative’s governance standards.

Minimum metadata
Archived documents should include, where applicable:
- title;
- version;
- status;
- publication date;
- last updated date;
- document type;
- responsible editor or working group;
- summary of purpose;
- relationship to prior versions;
- unresolved issues;
- limitations or non-claims.

What is not claimed at this stage
At this founding phase, the Planetary Integrity Foundation does not claim that:
The archive is a transparency structure under development, not proof of completed institutional maturity.
- the archive is complete;
- the archive is an official legal record;
- all governance procedures are finalized;
- all documents have been externally reviewed;
- all methodological materials are validated;
- the protocol has reached final status;
- Kairo is a deployed production system;
- institutional adoption has occurred;
- certification or regulatory authority has been obtained.
